Upstream provides updates for the release 1
by pushing commits to the git branch named 1-stable
These commits are expected to not break
any API, ABI or user interface.
Intended uses of such commits are to adjust the codebase for:
* new hardware
* new dependencies
Downstream packagers that need more stability for their deployments
can use date-based tags.
